In 1971, I began to mix Liquitex acrylic tube paint in cups of Rhom & Haas Rhoplex. Rhoplex is a binder used in making acrylic mediums and paints, even commercial house paints. It’s milky white but dries clear. I purchased several 55 gallon drums of Rhoplex and split it up among other Academy students – in those days it was about 60 cents per gallon. I would pour, drip, splash, fling, dip, etc…on a variety of canvases, panels, toys, and sculptures – it is also a great adhesive. The paintings in this post are all I have of the hundreds I did in the early the 70’s. I never established a top and bottom. They are all less than 15 inches and can be viewed from both sides.
