As my interest in ethnographic art grew stronger in the late 70’s, I began to explore Oceanic, African, and American Indian ritual and everyday objects more closely. From these, I selected various elements, then combined and incorporated them in my own work. The armatures are made from metal coat hangers and plaster gauze, covered with wax and roofing tar. The embellishments consist of shells, beads, stones, and feathers. These are photographs of some of that work from the late 70's to early 80's.
